Fools of April (2024)

After a long walk with their Oort, N3on arrives home just as it starts to rain. Oort dashes inside and looked to It's food bowl.

“Ok, hold on, let me get settled!” laughed  N3on.

The day was April 1st. The day for the fools to strike.

Making their way carefully leaping from rooftop  to rooftop  was Cyber. Humming a song to themselves that had gotten stuck in their head. 

As the rain falls Cyber recognizes N3ons Home.

Instantly an idea strikes Cyber just like the lightning that struck a tree somewhere in the distance.

They giggle about their genius plan before hopping onto N3ons roof.

Inside the house, the Oort is devouring whatever it is that they eat. N3on has had the urge to try but thinks it's for the best they don't. 

Doing last minute  checks around the house like seeing what food is left, doing some quick cleaning, and ending the checks with a snack, N3on  finally gets to sit down.

The thunder rumbles  and lightning flashes.

An odd silhouette could be seen from one window but N3on Doesn't notice. 

The power goes out.

“Graaah nooooo!” Grumbles N3on. 

The Power returns.

 N3on  is starting to question  things. They turn on the TV.

A strange creature  with orange hair is dancing with a microphone as music plays.

“You're  no stranger to loove,” he sings.

“You know the rules, and SO  do IIIIIIIIIII”,

N3on  tries to flip the channel.  Same video of the same creature  doing a silly song and dance. Neon quickly turns off the TV albeit  a bit frazzled  and confused. They go to their computer.

Click goes the button and the screen purrs to life.

“Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you,” the same silly thing sings

“Never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye, never gonna tell a lie, and hurt you!”

Power outage.

Loud laughter can be heard from the roof. Despite the rain  N3on opens a window and peeks out seeing a sopping wet Cyber.

“HAHAHA GET RICK ROLLED!!!! HAAAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!”

N3on  is stunned. “CYBER GET DOWN AND COME INSIDE PLEASE YOU'RE GONNA CATCH A COLD!!” 

N3on  closes the windows and hears a knock at the door. Opening it is still a laughing Cyber. 

“Get in here goof!!... NO… WAIT… sigh.. it's April fools isn't  it… also Cyber make my power work again please.”

Ziitzaap the powers  back.

N3on  grabs Some towels to dry Cyber off with and some blankets to warm them up.

Cyber dries themselves off. Wasn't that funny!?.”

“I'll be totally honest I have no clue what you did to my TV or computer but it was a catchy song. N3on sighs while putting  the used towels into the laundry.

Little Oort dashes to Cyber and Cyber provides pets.

“Thanks for the blankets, here I will fix The TV and explain Rick Astly.”

They both get comfy on in the living  room as Oort rolls around being silly on the carpet.

“SO, there's this trick people from somewhere far away play on eachother.  They send a video that looks normal but then this silly guy appears to sing his silly song!! It's like a Jumpscare but it's not scary!!” Cyber explains that they found out through another friend of this joke. “It's a really rare joke though. Not many people know it!”

“I see, well now I get it atleast and can agree that it is a silly joke!” N3on  asks if there is anything  other than Rick Astly that Cyber  wants to watch so N3on  turns on the TV as the normally scheduled  programs return.
